Pedro Espada Throws Cash at Protesters

Pol accuses protesters of being "hired goons" posing as housing advocates

Bronx Democrat Pedro Espada gave a group of protesters more than just a piece of his mind on Tuesday: He gave them cash -- angrily tossing crumpled bills at them during a shouting match.

The clash happened earlier this week in Albany, where Espada had gone to work on the State Budget.

In a statement afterward, Espada accused the protesters of being “hired goons” posing as housing advocates.

He said they were shouting epithets and blocking him from leaving the restroom.
