Group Files Ethics Complaint Over Chris Christie's Cowboy Trips

A group run by Democratic operatives has filed an ethics complaint over Gov. Chris Christie's attendance at Dallas Cowboys games on the team owner's dime.

The American Democracy Legal Fund wants the Jersey State Ethics Commission to investigate whether Christie violated state law when he accepted free owners' box tickets and a private jet ride to recent Cowboys games.

Christie's office says the gifts were allowed because Christie and team owner Jerry Jones are personal friends.

But the group says Jones and the state have a business relationship, because a group co-owned by the Cowboys has a contract with the Port Authority, among other issues.

The New Jersey State Ethics Commission did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The complaint was filed by Brad Woodhouse, who is also president of the American Bridge political action committee.
