Children are no strangers to the White House. Sure, they might not be calling the shots in the Oval Office, but most U.S. Presidents have moved into 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue with a brood in tow.
Which means that kids of all ages, shapes and sizes have wandered those hallowed halls. Or, in some cases, done things like host their senior class prom in the East Room or had a treehouse built on the grounds. The Secret Service has had code names for them (Chelsea Clinton was dubbed "Energy"), foreign dignitaries have come bearing gifts and the press has always obsessed over these pint-sized Presidential spawn.
Some have been caught in their cute toddler days, while others suffered through the spotlight during their more awkward years, but all Presidential children have enjoyed the affection of the nation and helped humanize the Commander in Chief.
