Six Flags America in Maryland Reopens After Bomb Threat

A bomb squad searched the Six Flags America amusement park in Maryland for nearly five hours Wednesday after the park received a threat, officials say.

The Six Flags location in Upper Marlboro was closed after receiving a threat about an explosive device in the park.

A Prince George's County Fire Department bomb squad found two packages. Both were determined to be "non-explosive," a fire department spokesman said about 1:15 p.m.

A search of the entire park was completed by about 3 p.m., and the bomb squad was cleared, the fire department spokesman said.

The park reopened about 3 p.m. and will be open until 8 p.m., park officials said.
