Missing MH370: Suspected Debris Found on Mauritian Island Hotel

MH370 went missing in March 2014 with 239 people on board

Hotel guests on an island about 350 miles east of Mauritius discovered debris last week that is now an "item of interest" in the search for missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370, NBC News reported.

Australia's transport minister, Darren Chester, said the Malaysian government is working with officials from Mauritius to take custody of the debris and arrange for its examination.

William Auguste, who owns the Mourouk Ebony Hotel on Rodrigues Island where the debris was found, said "It looks like it's from the inside part of [an airplane]."

Australia has led the search for the plane, which went missing in March 2014 with 239 people on board.
