5,000 Bags of Heroin Found During Traffic Stop

Delaware State Police say more than 5,000 packets of heroin were found in a car after a traffic stop in Dagsboro.

It happened about 4 p.m. Saturday on Iron Branch Road. Police say a trooper say a passenger riding in a car without a seat belt and the trooper pulled the vehicle over.

Officers say when the car stopped, the passenger got out of the car and ran away. Police say the driver was taken into custody, and a search turned up the heroin, totaling more than 80 grams. Troopers say marijuana was also found.

The driver, 35-year-old Frederick Mitchell III of Milford was charged with drug offenses. Police are looking for the passenger, 38-year-old Lynn Trader of Felton.
