The advisory is for 67 beaches in Suffolk County

Long Island Health Officials have issued an advisory against bathing at some beaches in Suffolk County as a precaution against elevated bacteria after heavy rain.

The Suffolk County Department of Health Services issued the warning for 67 beaches in the towns of Babylon, Brookhaven, East Hampton, Huntington, Islip and Smithtown.

This is just an advisory; the beaches have not been officially closed.
