Chilly Rain, Wintry Mix Move Out for Tri-State Area; Expect a Dry Rest of the Week

What to Know

  • Cold, rainy conditions from Monday last through Tuesday's morning commute, then move out, according to Storm Team 4.
  • Once the rain finally moves along and heads further north, partly sunny skies are expected by Tuesday afternoon and for the rest of the week
  • The chance for rain returns Friday and lingers through the weekend, Storm Team 4 says

Some north and west of the city woke up to early rain showers Tuesday, while those in the five boroughs saw a bit of rain -- but all that's  moving out, paving the way for a partially sunny afternoon with highs in the low 50s.

More clouds and chilly air descend back into the region Tuesday night leading into Wednesday, bringing temperatures back into the 30s overnight. Wednesday should be brisk and breezy with highs in the mid-to-upper 40s at best.

The good news? Conditions stay quiet and dry through Thursday with near normal highs in the low 50s. Another cold front brings yet another round of rain to close out the workweek, but it won't be cold -- expect a high of 58 Friday.

Storm Team 4's Winter Weather Forecast

More showers are on tap for the weekend, when temps will hover into the mid-to-upper 40s again, Storm Team 4 says.
