Omar Monroig, 42, was killed in the March accident

The family of a man struck and killed by a hit and run driver in North Bergen in March is now offering a reward for information on the accident, as police continue their search for the suspect.

Omar Monroig, 42, of Butler, was struck and killed at the corner of Tonnelle Avenue and 51st Street on March 23.

The driver of the 2001 to 2004 blue Toyota Camry struck Monroig so hard he was tossed 100 feet. The driver, seen on video, didn't stop.

North Bergen police are now stepping up their search for the driver, and set up roadblocks Friday night near the accident to study traffic patterns and hand out fliers.

A North Bergen police officer said the department has 25 officers dedicated to the case as they aggresively pursue the driver.

Anyone with information about the incident should contact the North Bergen Police Department's Traffic Division at (201) 392-2135.
