Newark Cabbie Shot Dead Inside Car

The Essex County Prosecutor's Office is investigating the death of a cab driver who was shot dead early Saturday morning in Newark.

The body of Rochenel Guerrier, 49, was found when police responded to what they thought was a motor vehicle accident on Mt. Prospect Avenue.
 
When emergency medical personnel removed the cab driver to offer medical aid, they found he had been shot.
 
Police said Guerrier, 49, is a married father of three living in Irvington. He had been employed by the Family Service cab company for approximately six months.
 
The investigation continues.
