Nassau County officials are investigating a fire at a home in Freeport Friday night that claimed the life of a 75-year-old woman.

Detectives say the fire in the house on Jay street broke out after 7:30 p.m Friday. There were two occupants at home during the fire -- a 44-year-old male, who escaped without any injuries, and a 75-year-old female who died in the fire.

The Arson Bomb Squad and fire marshal are still investigating.
