A 61-year-old man was shoved from a Times Square subway platform onto the rails, but managed to pull himself up and out before the next train arrived.

Luis Corchado told the police he was shoved from behind by a man who seemed to be drunk. He says, according to the Daily News that he was waiting for a Brooklyn-bound train just before 5 a.m. Saturday when he was pushed and toppled head-first onto the tracks. The man was charged with assault.

Corchado was treated for cuts and bruises at a local hospital.

Police say about an hour later in a separate incident, a man was struck and killed by a train while he walked near subway tracks at a station near Soho.
