Police on Long Island say a suspected drunken driver crashed her car as she was driving a shooting victim to the hospital.

Suffolk County police say the incident started with a fight outside a bar in East Islip early Saturday.

Shots were fired at 3:10 a.m. and struck 24-year-old Jovan Bailey multiple times.

Police say 21-year-old Nyasha Hunter tried to drive Bailey to the hospital but crashed into a guardrail.

Hunter, Bailey and two other passengers were all taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore. Bailey is in serious condition. The others were treated for minor injuries.

Hunter was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated. No information on an attorney was immediately available.
