14-Year-Old Boy Hit by Car on Long Island

A 14-year-old boy was hit by a car while skateboarding to school on Long Island.

Authorities say the victim was struck at around 8 a.m on Lido Boulevard in Lido Beach by a white SUV.
 
Officials say he was conscious and responsive as he was transported to a nearby hospital.
 
The driver remained on the scene.
 
Lido Boulevard remains closed, and some traffic delays have been reported.
