1 Dead, 1 Injured in NJ Diner Parking Lot Shooting

Authorities say it's not yet known if the dead person was struck by a bullet

One person was killed and another wounded when shots rang out in the parking lot of a northern New Jersey diner.

But authorities say it's not yet known if the dead person was struck by a bullet.

Hudson County Prosecutor Edward DeFazio tells The Jersey Journal that the shooting occurred around 2:30 a.m. Sunday in the parking lot of Al's Diner on Communipaw Avenue in Jersey City. But it's not clear how many people may have been involved or what sparked the shooting.

DeFazio says it appears that the person who was killed was struck by a vehicle in the diner parking lot. But a cause of death has not yet been determined.

The wounded person was taken to a hospital, but further details on their injuries were not disclosed.
