The NYPD has launched an internal affairs investigation into a police officer's report that he was stabbed during a possible home invasion.
Rishi Gobin was off-duty when he said he was stabbed Wednesday afternoon in his Jamaica, Queens, home.
He was taken to the hospital for treatment of a stab wound to his right side.
The investigation appeared to cast doubt on the officer's story. According to The New York Times
, police spokesman Paul Browne declined to give further details about the investigation.
But he said he saw nothing to suggest that the officer stabbed himself.
