The death of a 15-year-old girl in the Bronx Friday has been ruled a homicide, according to the medical examiner's office.
Authorities say Destiny Sanchez was smothered to death. Her body was found with a compression to the neck and stomach inside the lobby of 640 Barretto St. in Hunts Point.
A source told NBC 4 New York that police found bleach on Sanchez's body, but they did not know where it came from.
A 24-year-old man who was being questioned in connection with Sanchez's death was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child, according to police. Officials say he served Sanchez alcohol.
