Three people remain hospitalized after a three-vehicle crash in northern New Jersey, including two listed in critical condition.
Hillsdale police tell The Record that the crash occurred around 6:15 p.m. Monday, when a car driven by a 77-year-old township resident rear-ended a car driven by a 17-year-old girl. The older driver's car then crossed into oncoming traffic and collided head on with the third vehicle.
The 77-year-old driver and two people in the third vehicle, a 55-year-old woman and her husband, were taken to hospitals with undisclosed injuries. The teen driver was treated for minor back injuries.
Authorities say the 77-year-old driver and the 55-year-old woman were in critical condition Tuesday, while the woman's husband was in stable condition.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
