Police have given the "all clear" after an anonymous note sent to the guidance counselor at a Long Island high school prompted a brief lockdown.

Authorities said the anonymous note said a certain student at George W. Hewlett High School planned to bring a gun to campus Friday.

The student mentioned in the note was ushered to the principal's office when he arrived at the school Friday morning, but no gun was found, police said.
