Massive Fire Destroys Central NJ Car Dealership

It wasn't immediately clear what sparked the fire

A central New Jersey car dealership and several vehicles were destroyed in a fast-moving fire that also left one firefighter injured.

It wasn't immediately clear what sparked the fire at the Buhler Chrysler dealership in Hazlet, though it appears it may have started in a rear service area. The blaze was reported around 5 a.m. Saturday, and hundreds of firefighters battled the fire for several hours before it was brought under control.

One firefighter was treated at a hospital for what authorities said were "smoke-related" injuries that were not considered serious.

Most of the dealership's stock of vehicles was spared in the blaze and its owners hope to reopen the business this week, operating out of temporary trailers. They also say the dealership will be rebuilt at the site.
