Gov. Christie to Speak at GOP's Lincoln Day Dinner

The Saturday evening appearance comes just days ahead of Kentucky's primary election

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is scheduled to give Kentucky Republicans a pep talk at the state GOP's annual Lincoln Day Dinner.

The Saturday evening appearance comes just days ahead of Kentucky's primary election.

Christie had been touted as a potential presidential candidate in this year's Republican primary, but he opted not to enter the race. He still is being talked about as a potential vice presidential running mate.

His visit has captured the attention of Democrats who distributed a statement accusing Christie of "pandering to the extreme right wing base."

The Republican dinner is being held at the Marriott Griffin Gate hotel in Lexington.
