New York City's First Baby of 2012 Born in the Bronx

Baby Rania Ali was born exactly at midnight.

One Bronx hospital claims New York City's first baby was born in their facility last just as the clock struck midnight on New Year's Day.

Alia and Imdad Ali welcomed baby Rania at Montefiore Medical Center exactly at midnight as the ball dropped 14 miles away in Times Square.

The healthy baby weighed exactly 7 pounds and was born at 12 a.m -- and is, according to hospital spokeswoman Helen Guss, New York City's Baby New Year.

The Ali family lives in the Bronx and also has a 3 1/2-year-old son, Ryan.
