Cocaine-Filled Picture Frames Seized at Newark Airport: Feds

Customs agents seized a pound of cocaine hidden in pictures frames inside a passenger's baggage at Liberty International Airport, authorities said Monday.

U. S. Customs and Border Protection officers searched the bags of a traveler, a Peruvian citizen, and found three picture frames and three paper packages on March 21.

Upon inspection, offiers found white powder that tested positive for cocaine hidden in the frames.

The cocaine had a street value of $30,000. The alleged smuggler was turned over to the Port Authority Police Department, the feds said.
