Feds Subpoena Legislative Committee for Christie Bridge Scandal Docs

A New Jersey legislative committee investigating the shutdown of lanes near the George Washington Bridge last year says federal prosecutors have ordered it to share documents it has gathered.

The committee co-chairs said in a statement Friday that they will comply with the subpoena.

Senator Loretta Weinberg and Assemblyman John Wisniewski say the request "reaffirms" their progress.

Lawmakers and federal prosecutors have both been probing the lane closures, which were ordered by a former Port Authority of New York and New Jersey official and an ex-aide to Gov. Chris Christie as political retribution aimed at the mayor of Fort Lee.

The Republican governor says he was not involved in the scheme.
