A 5-year-old boy was shot in the stomach in Jersey City on Wednesday afternoon, officials said.
The boy was playing outside his home near Martin Luther King Boulevard and Union Street when he was shot, authorities said.
The child was taken to Jersey City Medical Center around 3:30 p.m. and underwent surgery, according to the hospital.
He emerged from surgery in stable condition and was doing well, according to the hospital.
No arrests have been made.
