The man who was fatally wounded was found inside a parked car.

A man was killed in a shooting in Yonkers Friday night while attending a candlelight vigil, and another man was injured nearby, police said.

Officials said the 38-year-old man who died was shot inside a car on Highland Avenue and Jackson Street at around 10 p.m. Another victim was found nearby with a small wound to his head that authorities said may have been caused by a bullet.

Police said the men were attending a vigil for a man who had recently died in a motorcycle accident when shots rang out. It is unclear whether the shooters targeted the men who were hit.

Anyone who has information about the shooting is asked to call the Yonkers Detective Division at 914-377-7724.
