A worker was injured in a fall at 3 World Trade Center Wednesday, the FDNY said.

The 36-year-old worker was sitting on a steel beam, doing installation work, and fell approximately 15 feet, according to the Port Authority.

He suffered a severe forearm injury and head laceration and was taken to Bellevue Hospital in serious but stable condition.

Local 40 Iron union workers are required to log more than 600 hours of training during apprenticeship, and safety on the job is emphasized, but the nature of the job is inherently dangerous, workers say.

It wasn't clear what caused the worker to fall.
