Man Grabs, Tries to Drag Women in Queens Park: NYPD

A man has attacked three women in broad daylight at a popular Queens park frequented by families, police say.

Police are increasing patrols in Kissena Park in Flushing after the attacks. Police say the most recent one happened Wednesday, when a man grabbed a woman's arms from behind and tried to drag her into a backyard on 56th Road.

Before that, on Sunday, a stranger kissed and fondled a woman standing at an intersection just outside the park at about 10 a.m., according to police.

And last Friday, a woman was pulled from her bike on Oak Avenue by a man who tried to drag her into the park, police said.

All the victims got away before the assailant could do more. Police believe it's the same man.

Upset neighbors say they're convinced the man is one of the many transients who live in the park.

"I see them walking in and out all the time," said Robert Guadagno.

"Look at all the kids and everything," he said. "There's a park right here, and there's a school right there."

Women now say their guard is up: "I don't go in the park alone," said a neighbor named Ashley. "I go with a friend or a group of people."
