The burnt body of a naked young woman was discovered on the beach in Brooklyn Sunday, police said.
The woman's body was found in Gerritsen Beach near Gerritsen and Lois avenues at about 7:10 a.m., authorities said.
She was burned on her legs, arms and hands and was found face up on the beach. A law enforcement official tells NBC 4 New York that investigators also located a kerosene can and signs of a bonfire nearby.
Investigators were still trying to determine the woman's identity, the cause of death and how her body wound up there.
