Woman Struck, Killed by Truck While Crossing Street in Queens: Police

The woman was crossing Rockaway Boulevard in St. Albans when she was hit by the truck

An 18-year-old woman was struck and killed by a truck as she was crossing a busy road in Queens Thursday, police said.

The woman was crossing 132nd Avenue at Rockaway Boulevard in St. Albans at about 6:15 p.m. when she was hit by a 1999 International truck, according to police. 

The truck had been going north on Rockaway Boulevard and was turning left onto 132nd Avenue when it struck the victim.

The victim suffered head and chest injuries, and was taken to Jamaica Hospital where she was pronounced dead. 

The driver of the truck remained on the scene; no charges were filed.
