A woman struck by a bullet in the lobby of an apartment building in the Bronx Thursday was an apparent bystander caught in gunfire, not far from where two pedestrians were shot earlier in the week, police say.
The 58-year-old victim was shot in the calf inside the lobby of 1555 Grand Concourse in the Mount Eden section at about 2:45 p.m., according to police.
She was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where she's listed in serious but stable condition.
It's not clear how she was shot, and there's no word on any suspects.
The building is not far from where two bystanders were shot on a busy sidewalk near the subway on East 179th Street and Grand Concourse Monday. Police Wednesday released surveillance video of the suspects in that shooting.
