A foul stench coming from a second-floor apartment in Astoria led to a grisly discovery -- a 28-year-old woman dead on the floor with lacerations to her chest, authorities said Monday.
The woman, who has not been identified, was found Thursday afternoon in the one-room apartment on Steinway Street after someone called 911 to report the bad small. She was pronounced dead at the scene, the case ruled a homicide.
Authorities say there were no signs of forced entry. The investigation is ongoing.
