Woman Falls Into Gap Between Train, Platform at Long Island Rail Road Station

A woman fell into a gap between the platform and the train at the Long Island Rail Road Great Neck station Thursday evening, sustaining only minor injuries, officials said. 

The woman lost her balance and plunged into the gap at about 5:45 p.m., LIRR told Newsday. She didn't go under the train car and was able to be pulled back onto the platform.

She was taken to a hospital to be evaluated.

The incident caused some delays on the Port Washington branch of LIRR during the evening rush.
