Wife Beaten in NJ Domestic Dispute Dies: DA

The victim's husband will now face murder charges

Prosecutors say a New Jersey woman who allegedly was beaten by her husband during a domestic dispute at their home has died.

The death of 58-year-old Beth Fabbricatore means her 64-year-old husband, Thomas, will now face murder charges. He remains jailed on $2 million bail, and his first court appearance on the murder count will be held Friday.

Thomas Fabbricatore initially was charged with attempted murder. The Hackensack resident has said he didn't intend to hurt his wife, saying she fell and hit her head on the floor when they pushed each other during a "domestic spat" Tuesday.

Authorities responded to the home after receiving an anonymous tip. They said Thomas Fabbricatore told them there was nothing wrong, but police found his wife on the floor with grave injuries.
