Woman Beaten, Tied Up in Staten Island Home Robbery: Police

Police are looking for a man who broke into a Staten Island home and tied up a woman who was inside before stealing some of her belongings.

Officers responded to the home on Huguenot Avenue at about 11:30 a.m. Thursday.

Officials said the man used a chair to climb into a window at the side of the house and then struck the 39-year-old woman with a blunt object. He then tied her hands with a cord and made off with some cash and jewelry.

A neighbor who declined to give her name said she found the victim bound and bleeding and ran back into her home to get scissors to the cut the restraints.

The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
