Woman Attacked Officers With a Crucifix: Deputies

A 44-year-old woman is in the Warren County jail after being charged with swinging a crucifix at deputies sent to help her.

The Warren County Sheriff's Office says deputies were called to Pine Grove Cottages at Lake George around 1 a.m. Wednesday to deal with a domestic dispute. They found a woman had barricaded herself in a cabin and was threatening to harm herself with razor blades.

The sheriff's office says the woman, identified as 44-year-old Elisabeth Lutz, repeatedly swung a wood and metal crucifix at officers who tried to help her, nearly hitting one in the face.

Officers subdued her with pepper spray and charged her with attempted assault and criminal possession of a weapon. She was jailed pending arraignment. No information was available regarding her lawyer.
