A 26-year-old Long Island woman was killed Saturday morning when the car she was driving slammed into a tree near her home, police said.
Erin Reed, of Railroad Avenue in Center Moriches, was driving her 2010 Nissan Altima on Wading River Road in the hamlet at about 8:15 a.m. when her car left the roadway and hit a tree, Suffolk County police said.
Reed was taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue where she was pronounced dead.
Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact Suffolk County detectives.
