Window Washers Dangle for 30 Minutes 35 Stories Above Manhattan Streets After Scaffolding Malfunction

Two window washers were stranded 35 stories above the streets of Manhattan Monday after their scaffolding malfunctioned, authorities say.

The workers were dangling for about 30 minutes outside the 35th floor of the building on Third Avenue after the equipment malfunctioned shortly before noon.

Firefighters had to cut through glass to rescue them. They were pulled through a window and brought to safety.

No injuries were reported.
