Window Washer Falls to His Death From Manhattan Building

A Manhattan window washer fell six stories to his death on Monday after his harness broke, police said.

The man, Eduardo Monge, 56, of the Bronx, was washing windows at the 12th-floor level of 60 Madison Avenue when he fell, coming to rest on a sixth-floor landing.

Monge was taken to the hospital and later pronounced dead.

His partner, who was working a few feet over, said he saw Monge fall but could not do anything to stop him.

The 13-story building is adjacent to Madison Square Park in the NoMad neighborhood.
