White Plains Wheel Thief Uses Traffic Cones to Hold Up Car

Police say the thief apparently collected the traffic cones in the garage, then stacked them to hold up the car

Police in Westchester County are looking for a mall thief who used orange traffic cones to hold up a car while stealing a wheel.

Police in White Plains say a woman who works at the Westchester Mall reported the incident around 4:30 p.m. Monday.

When she went to get her car, the front driver's side tire and rim were missing from her 2011 Honda Accord.

Police say the thief apparently collected the traffic cones in the garage, then stacked them to hold up the car.

The missing wheel's worth about $600. The cones caused about $300 damage to the fender.
