On this Memorial Day weekend, New York City beaches will no doubt be packed again.
At one beach in particular, there's a lot more room this year: Orchard Beach was renovated and expanded during the off-season.
And in Coney Island, more sections of the boardwalk reconstruction project will soon be finished, according to the Parks Department.
Rockaway Beach, Midland Beach, South Beach, Wolfe's Pond Beach and Cedar Grove are also open this weekend, and admission is free.
At Coney Island, Luna Park is celebrating its first birthday Sunday. Admission to the park is free as well -- but rides are not (although you can buy an unlimited-ride wristband for $30). The park opens at 11 a.m., and doesn't close until 1 a.m.
And Sunday's your last chance to see this year's edition of the Bethpage Federal Credit Union New York Air Show. It resumes at 10 a.m. at Jones Beach State Park, and ends at 3 p.m.
