Google Tips Off NY Authorities to Child Porn Upload, Leading to Arrest of Former Fire Chief

A school groundskeeper and former fire chief was arrested for allegedly uploading child porn from a computer in the Westchester home where his wife and adult daughter live, prosecutors say.

Raymond Zaccari, 48, is facing felony charges after investigators executed a search warrant at his Mount Kisco home on April 7. Authorities were investigating a CyberTipline report filed by Google, in which the company said someone had uploaded child pornography to a Google Plus Photos account associated with an IP address traced to Zaccari's home.

Zaccari was arraigned Friday on felony charges of promoting an obscene sexual performance by a child and possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child.

His attorney, Elizabeth Crotty, said in a statement her client "respects the legal process and looks forward to addressing the allegations."

"Raymond Zaccari has been a dedicated and invaluable member of the community for decades as a public servant and volunteer fireman," Crotty added.

Zaccari is the ex-chief of the Mount Kisco Fire Department, and currently employed by the Rippowam Cisqua School in Bedford as a groundskeeper and as afterschool bus driver, according to the Westchester County District Attorney.

The school has been informed of Zaccari's arrest, according to the district attorney's office, but officials were not available for comment Tuesday because of the holiday.

Bail for Zaccari was set at $25,000 cash, and as a condition of bail, he is not permitted to be around children under the age of 17.

He is next expected to appear in Village of Mount Kisco Justice Court on April 20.
