Military Smoke Grenade Turns Up in Westchester: Officials

Authorities investigating reports of a suspicious package dropped off at a Westchester firehouse have identified the item as a military smoke grenade, the NYPD bomb squad said.

Officials plan to take the smoke grenade to Rodman's Neck for disposal.

Units were at Central Avenue and North Washington Street in the hamlet of Hartsdale, in the Westchester town of Greenburgh, around 11:30 a.m. Thursday.
