Police in a Westchester town are searching for a man in connection with the sex assault of an 18-year-old woman behind a church in May.

Bedford Police say a man in his 50s assaulted the woman while she was alone on the riding trails behind St. Matthews Church on Cantitoe Street at about 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 12.

The man ran off into the woods, and has not been seen since. He's described as about 6 feet 2 inches, 220 to 230 pounds, with thick eyebrows and a well-groomed full beard. He had salt-and-pepper colored hair.

Bedford is a small town in northeast Westchester, and is known for being a safe community.
