Part of Henry Hudson Parkway Closed Due to Retaining Wall

UPDATE: Part of Henry Hudson Parkway Closed into Weekend

One northbound lane of the Henry Hudson Parkway near 125th Street remained closed Wednesday as authorities examined a retaining wall possibly in danger of collapse.

Part of the stone facade needs to be removed from the retaining wall, the city's Office of Emergency Management said. There were concerns about the wall bulging and appearing unstable.

Two lanes of the highway were closed in Manhattan at the start of the evening rush Tuesday night, backing up traffic all the way down into the 50s.
