Man Beaten to Death in Wedding Band Robbery: Cops

Police are searching for a suspect or suspects in a deadly armed robbery in which the victim's wedding band was stolen.

Police said the 67-year-old victim, Jesus Morales of Merrick, was robbed at 260 18th St. in South Slope at about 7:15 p.m. Wednesday. Responding officers found Morales on the floor with head injuries and took him to Lutheran Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Police have released a photo of the victim's stolen wedding band. Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
