Muggy, Hot Weather to Sizzle Tri-State

Just a day after the unofficial start of summer, the sizzle is already hitting the tri-state.

Storm Team 4 says that Tuesday will be one of the hottest days of the year so far, with temperatures soaring into the upper 80s and 90s in some spots in central and northern New Jersey.

The heat will be accompanied by hazy conditions and muggy feel that could stick around for much of the rest of the week.

The hot weather will bring with it the chance of thunderstorms. Scattered thunderstorms are in the forecast for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, as weather remains hazy, muggy and in the 80s.

The heat will stick around through Sunday, when a storm system moves through, bringing cooler temperatures to start the next workweek.

The heat comes amid what is already one of the hottest Mays on record in New York City.
