We Love New York! Most New Yorkers Satisfied With the City

Most New Yorkers love their city.

That's according to a new survey by the Municipal Art Society released Thursday.

But the survey also found that the degree of satisfaction varied by income and location.

Manhattanites are most happy while Bronx residents are least satisfied.

In general, 84 percent of New Yorkers love living in the city. Sixty-two percent would remain in the city or move to another part if given a chance to move.

The survey also found that 62 percent of New Yorkers would choose more green space over more housing development.

Manhattan was rated as the best borough to live in. Brooklyn and Queens tied, followed by Staten Island and the Bronx.

MAS surveyed 1,000 New Yorkers by telephone between Sept. 29-Oct. 6.
