Residents in the Newport section of Jersey City are waking up to low water pressure or none at all this morning due to a water main break.
About 2,000 people were effected when a 30 inch water-main broke this morning just before 1a.m., officials said.
A spokesperson for United Water stated that while the water is still on customers will notice a decrease in pressure and those living in buildings above the 6th floor may not have any water due to the decreased pressure.
This is the second break in this area of Jersey City within a week.
