Subways are slowly getting back on track after a water main break in lower Manhattan disrupted the morning commute Thursday.

By 4p.m., the main break at Murray Street and West Broadway was repaired, and water was restored.

The water main break happened at about 3:30 a.m.

A Department of Environmental Protection spokesman said there was a 12-inch fracture in the pipe.

It wasn't immediately clear what caused the fracture.
